The Granite Creek planning area existing transportation network is dominated by motor vehicles (cars). Roads within the planning area largely provide a “cut through” route to and from downtown areas outside of the planning area.
There is no public access to Granite Creek within the planning area between established roadways. Pedestrian access to the east side of the creek is limited due to development and grade changes, access to the west side of the creek is from established roadways.
On-street parking is at a premium within the areas closest to Gurley Street, and demand for on street parking declines as distance from Gurley Street decreases. Cut through traffic, in particular at the intersection of Willis and Granite Streets is a barrier to on-street parking use.
Most street edges have existing sidewalks. No defined bicycle facilities exist within the planning area.
